WOYWW #335

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

This post is for all the folks who have said 'I can't do that'.  My desk this week is simple .........
'First Steps'

My first canvas.

I have wanted to do this for so long but never had the courage to go and purchase the equipment just in case I couldn't do it and wasted all the money.   This week an old sim card holder was 'found' so I knew it was just what I wanted to apply the paint.
Over the last few months I have been 'collecting' bottles of acrylic paint and storing them in my cat food boxes, the outer neatly covered of course.
I have a large paper pad in my stash and while I have been stamping and trying out my paints I covered the desk with one of the sheets of paper.  The sheet is a little larger than the box which is ideal, so all the 'wipe offs' and stamp offs are now looking at me!

I remembered buying a canvas pad some time ago but where have I put it?  This morning I sorted out the canvas pad, taped a sheet down to my work top and with paints and card ..... I cannot explain the feeling when I look at this  ..............
 It is sooo vibrant IRL!

WHO can't?!?!

Have a good week everyone, I hope you have your own happy dancing moment like me.

  2. You're so right, Christine...sometimes, we're so bad at saying 'I can't' when we should be saying 'Let's have a go'. I'm the world's worst for doing that, so have taken encouragement from your post today.

  4. Well done for having a go, Christine. That's brilliant. Looks really good! We are only too ready to believe the voice which says "I can't" - good for you not to believe it!!!
Thanks for your visit. It was indeed good to get out and about - the jobs can wait!! We looked, but didn't see Moses hiding in any of the ponds and rushes! It was great that John was actually up to it. I think the wifely physio is doing some good. Can't see any bruises....
    Take care. God bless you.

  6. Congratulations on your first canvas! I love the deep texture it has and the colors you used are great! I know what you mean about that little voice that says "I can't". I think we all have our doubts about certain things in our lives, whether it be a particular craft or daily activities.

I'm not participating this week but thought I'd stop by to see what you've been up to!

    Hugs,
    Kay

  12. Hi Christine, yes, I too am not a fan of the spring show. I went this year for the first time in a long while, and it was just as poor as I remembered. What annoys me is that the show is barely a quarter the size of the Christmas one, yet they still charge the same entry fee. Good luck with the canvas!Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #7 xx
