Christmas Challenge 105

Yes!  I know!  I'm sad ........... just don't want a rush for next year ......... and anyhow ........... if I make too many (huh!!) I shall just donate them to Charity Crafter.  I have bookmarked this blog - Craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge - so that I can enter the challenges just to encourage me.

I am entering this card in Challenge 105.

All my Christmas 'stuff' is now tidied into two boxes - one for finished cards and one for embellishments - how good is that?  OK - so I had cleared them away but ...............

I fetched them out and opened the embellishment box, had a mooch, found a packet of Margaret Sherry Colour-ins - Nativity, and silver lurex (shiny with holly leaves embossed down each side) cards. That's it ......... Three Kings on doyley on card with sentiment - done deal!

Removed one of the sheets, sorted out my felt tip pens and coloured in the Three Kings - vibrant colours cos it's raining and miserable outside.............. I am not keen on these pens, they do not have the finish I was thinking of..............The doyley needed to be coloured as the white looked awful so I coloured the border in green and blue.  Looks odd...... and.......... the third King's cloak clashes with the 'sky' part of the doyley.  Darkened parts of the blue and centred it on the card.   Looks better I think..........

I turned the card landscape and added the Three Kings.  I found an appropriated sentiment from among my Peel Offs, attached this by using a 3D block to raise it above the card.

I have sorted out some inserts with verses and they are now in my Finished Card box with the cards ........... did you notice that is plural?  Well, I forgot to pop the neighbour's cards through their letterboxes so I have a start on next years cards ........... ho! hum!

Blue Christmas Challenge

No this is not me making cards for next year!!!

This is me entering a challenge on Addicted to Stamps blog.  I love reading these challenge blogs and seeing all the wondrous items that are created by everyone.
I still have some of my recycled Christmas Cards left so I thought that I may be able to enter a few challenges yet.

This card used a picture where I cut out the front of the card into a square and then rounded the corners.  I laid a silver ribbon across the centre - well, almost the centre!!!
I thought that the oblong Peel Off sentiment was all that was needed to finish my card - almost CAS............

Mystery Box Challenge No 2

Mystery Boxes are opened on Nicely Done Designs Blogspot and Challenge No 2 includes Glitter, Brads, Tag, Kraft Paper and Rubber Stamp.

I didn't see 'Rubber Stamp's when I decided to join this challenge - I am challenged with stamping!!!
I decided to go for it.  I have taken some time over this - admittedly Christmas disrupted things a bit - but it was the stamp you see ............ I do have stamps, used to use them a lot .......... in the olden days!

So I sorted tags and brads and paper and GLITTER (this was a chance to use my nice, new, incredibly useful - so the DH was told - glue pen) all from my stash.

I laid it all out and then decided I would use an unknown make Balloons rubber stamp on my large tag.  I could glitter the little light squares ............... I did......... not that impressed ........... it needed more glitter!!!  I used a smaller stamp for the second tag - still not happy with the stamping but 'less is more'.

So I used double sided tape and made double lines at the side and along the bottom - glittered to my hearts content   *happy! happy!*

Then I attached the first tag by a brad and added the second brad.  This was adhered to the card and the second tag, I tied a bow using DMC Jewel Effect Thread (No321) , using a 3D sticky to raise it over the smaller tag.
I am very pleased with the result - this being my very first 'totally made for challenge' card..... and stamped.........

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone and as the great Dave Allen used to say - May your God go with you!

Image - Paulette at Create with TLC
Backing papers - Paper Wishes
Fiskars Border Punch

The above were created and then adhered to a gold card, 3d foam raised the salutation above the card.  Unfortunately the damp seems to have affected this and it looks a little bent ..........

I have entered this card in the Paper Play Challenge 51/52 - "Out with the old, in with the new"

Birthday time

I receivd some cards early  .............

This card was from a Dutch group I am with.  It opens out into a double fold card with the decoupage on the inside.  It is gold coloured with gold embossing - beautiful!

This one is from a work colleague - oh! how I suffered in that office!  lol!  he! he!  what a wicked sense of humour!!!

This one is handmade by a lady who should really know better!!  All the gold peel offs must've taken ages to put on.

I had a truly wonderful birthday.  :-)

Stamping the Nativity

I have several stamps of the Nativity scene but have not stamped for ages - way back before last Christmas!!!

I used this small triangular in non - Christmas colours just to see how it looked, I'm pretty pleased.  Here it is in brown on a very dark, almost black card with gold peel off mounted on white card matted on the brown paper.

And then there's this one ...............

About as simple as I can get I think!

I have entered the Green Stamped card in Sarah Hurley Challenges Blog ...............

2007 Challenges - July to Nov

I am now into these Challenges sooo much that I have enough Challenge Bits for the whole year.  The OCD in me has come out and I have an expanding file, labelled with each month and filled with bags of Challenges!!!
Sent Challenge
How sad!!

July was very pink!!
Received Challenge

The Challenge pieces once again were not always sent back as a card.

My Card
My club card

Out of curiosity and for no other reason ............ these are the cards from other club members.  Each bag contained one of several design stickers, these were material stickers from Paper Wishes.  Beautiful.

In September I had made the card before I scanned my received challenge and my Challenge went out to club members.  My received challenge included a jigsaw piece!!!
My sent card
I sent purple - paper, lametta, green ribbon and a white brad.

October was the last for 2007 as everyone agreed that Christmas took priority and, as cards needed to be made and sent, there would not be Challenges for November and December.

Contrasting colours now as I receive pinks and send out greens and browns.

My sent card

with  just a few Peel Offs!

1st Digital Stamp card!

Well! I did it!

I used a digital image from Mo Manning - Mo's digis - I fell in love with this when I saw this card,

which unfortunately I didn't take the site for - I do apologise and if it's yours, please get in touch so I can acknowledge and give you the credit.

Anyhow, a lady we know has just had her hip replaced so I thought this image was perfect.
I printed it on my PC and coloured using Crayola felt tip pens, this is my take.......

The lavender paper is wallpaper which I embossed using a Glitter Girls board and then cut out.  The flowers were made up from a pack given to me by N and diamantés added.  I printed the text on my PC and 3d taped it.  The butterfly has one wing pressed up so that the other wing lies flat on the card.

I hope she likes it.............. makes her laugh and feel better.

The Last Card Swaps of 2012

Where this year has gone to I do not know but it is now over for me to send out my swaps.  It has not been a very successful year as there has DEFINITELY been a decrease in sending out cards, whether it be lack of interest, postage rates or what, I don't know.

Here are my cards for this month's Swaps:-
 1 to 1 swap
Peel Offs swap

I made several of the Three King cards - recycling!  I wrapped a strand of purple lametta along the centre of the Hessian and decorated it with a thin ribbon bow.

The Peel Off was stitched and then backed with gold Holographic wrapping paper, attached some gold thread and secured with a bow.

Colour My World - Gold Card + Red Embellishment + one other = cream
Teabag Folded
I edged the teabag tiles with Hobbycraft Multi-coloured Ink Pad using the gold strip.

Red and Green Challenge

Just found this challenge on http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.co.uk

I happen to have made what I think is a very attractive green card.  I suppose it is a matter of opinion but I just love the jewelled colours of this card and am jumping at the chance to show it off!!
Another of my recycled card fronts with a side strip of green / gold / silver ribbon, so I just had to use a peel off greeting with red.

Recycle, Recycle!

It was recycling that encouraged me to make my first Christmas cards.  I asked round the office and at Church for any old Christmas cards, saved the Nativity ones and passed all the others onto a Charity company.  One year this sad person sorted all her card fronts into subjects - Angels, Kings, Mother and Child etc.

I will say this very quietly ............. I think I have used them all up now!!!

I have stamped a few cards this year but mainly used up all my card fronts and managed to make - and post!!) - all my Christmas cards.

I am entering into Twist of Faith card challenge  - No 5  Inspired by Carols.

one ex-Christmas card, one gold bow, two strips of gold border and one white card.

Silent Night, Holy Night.

2007 Challenges - Feb to June

Another year - another set of Challenges.  I have decided to nominate this swap again in my group.

Received Challenge

Sent Challenge

I am also challenging my local card group so although I am sending out five other sets I will only show my cards.

So I send Tigger (and we all know the wonderful thing about Tiggers ...........!!)

and I find a punch and transform my challenge into a card.

In March I was sent some cute stamped teddies with fancy wool and gold speckled paper.

I sent daisies, gold peel offs, yellow paper

No-one sent me a challenge in April but I still managed to challenge my club.  Tartan bordered paper, ribbons and a shaped card.

May brought superb challenges.  I was sent flowered paper, bling and ribbon - lemon & lavender, my favourite combination.

I sent red - paper, ribbon and roses...........
and silver!

Using my punch - another style I like - I sent off this card

My challenge in the club did not scan very well .............

June saw me receiving butterflies and summery colours.

I sent pastels and a bit of bling

sent card

Did I ever tell you that my
                              mother was a Miliner and
                             taught me how to make
                             ribbon flowers?
I put them behind the bling -
                           which reminds me ...........

I have acquired a lot of these blingy flowers recently - watch this space!!
