WOYWW #321

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

This is a Rant - human rights and all that ...... how come we get the notice about cookies all the time?  Turns out it is European Law to declare the use of cookies.  For once I would like to be able to choose what I do, what happened to the Human Rights - Freedom - and all that?!?!?
Rant over

Well, the 'job' turned out to be a running contract so a couple of hours once a fortnight doesn't sound too bad - details will be up on my Recollections Blog soon - so after clearing the back garden, we will have to wait to start on the front garden ........

but you're here to see my desk ......

Caught me this week!!!  I am making some steampunk ATCs for a couple of swaps.
Some time ago I bought some dies and stamps from Heartfelt Creations and absolutely loved them.  I made a few cards and a box to keep all my Steampunk 'bits' in and then it all went 'away'.
Then I bought some Chocolate Baroque stamps, made some cards, put the stamps in the Steampunk box .....

I have two swaps this month - Stamped Bunch of Flowers and Steampunk - so I thought that I would combine all my stamps and produce the goods!  That's where I am at the moment, some cards I will discard and some well .... I may rework them.  I am happy with my bunches of flowers - they are stamped and embossed ready to paint - they are in the top right of the picture but my others ..... rework I think, they don't seem to have a soul........

But for today I am off out with PJ & C to buy some new clothes for DN (Dexter Nicholas) and we are going to have a fab time, it seems ages since the three of us (+ DN now!) all went out for a day ..........

so you all have a good week, I'll be round to visit later in the week.

Golden Wedding

What a mess I have made of this!!!
We (one of my online Groups) were asked if we would like to make a card for a member's upcoming Golden Wedding anniversary.
It made me stop and think ........ had my first husband hung around we would be celebrating our 50years this year!  Should I 'facebook' him to remind him?  lol .... I didn't!!!
Anyways I set to and made the card.
I sourced out from Google, as one does, and decided on this design.  When I came to read the email so I could write the address, I realised that it had come from my ATC Group ........oops!  Luckily I had not tidied up so quickly made an ATC  ........... two for the price of one??!!!

For the card
I used a silver embroidered gold paper for the background, added a group of golden beads and roses, tied a gold ribbon bow and a gold peel off.  What doesn't show on this photo is that the card is cream!  I used some textured cream paper for the insert and wrote my message with a gold ink pen.

For the ATC
I cut out the ATC from some embossed gold card, added a square of the embroidered paper which I tied the gold ribbon round twice before tying it in a bow. I glued the ends of the ribbon behind the paper but, in retrospect, wish I had left them free.  I adhered this to the card and then added a gold peel off.  I used dull gold paper for the backing so that I could write my details - not in gold this time!!!

Congratulations Roz, may you have many more happy years together.

New job means less time at the computer!!!
We have been asked to clear another garden for our local landlord - didn't even know he had this house but there you go, at least he thought to ask us to go in..... lol
But enough of all this frivolity, let's get back to the real things in life .....  The Desk!

Not a lot going on there .... a few empty pots ready to use for storage ........ some sketches of butterflies and bugs ........ felt cut out bird ....... some DAS for future use.
I am going to make the felt birds for C.R.U.N.C.H. soon ... first I have some ATCs to paint ...

Thank you all for your visits last week, I shall be late visiting ...... but I will get there .....

WOYWW #319

This is What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

I don't wish to break the 'rules' round here but when a certain company has a sale I have to buy!
To resist is to be absolutely stupid!
I just added a few more to my collection, a Christmas set or two and a few brights, full complement now I think - too many colours and I get even more confused than 'normal'!!!

So my little box arrived this morning and I am busy sorting, indexing and 'trying them out'.

There's a certain doodle mag that is begging me to colour its pages ......

Have a good week, enjoy the sunshine (if you have it back!) and I will leave you with an aaahhh! photo ....

WOYWW #318

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

We are very busy at the moment - as it's raining we are inside playing ............
The story goes like this .........
I have heard folks talk about this small papercraft fair held at the local Motorbike Museum.  I knew there was one coming up in July, mentioned it to PJ (who immediately thought 'butterfly stamps') and so off we went last Saturday.
We split up as soon as we entered the room, which was large and airy, and wandered around bumping into each other and sharing what we had so far.  To be honest the fair was larger than I thought it would be, there were no major companies, and it felt like I was just visiting local craft shops - which some stands were!!  Once or twice we met up at a stall and had a natter but otherwise .............. we shopped ....... then went for a coffee and cake (which we won't do again as we found it rather expensive for what it was, but that is just our opinion as the restaurant was rather full).
My haul - mixture stamps and dies
with a few inks thrown in!

PJ's haul - butterfly stamps and dies.

We had a wonderful time, will go back next time mainly to watch the demos.  We were soooo busy looking at what was for sale, we missed the demos and names of the stalls.  We did find a local, well 20 miles away, shop which we will visit at a later date .... just for the looksey you understand!!
So, today, we are at our desks, indexing (trying out) the stamps and dies.  Can't wait to start creating, maybe later in the week as I really must get on with my 'window boxes'.  The guys have been asked to sort out the fencing now so my boxes MUST be ready for the 'new' fence.  I tell you, this loco works will be so posh soon!!!!
Have a good week, I will visit as many as I can and thanks in advance for visiting me!!!

WOYWW #317

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

I am working on recycling ATC Storage ..... from a cat food box!!!
The story goes like this ......
We happened upon some reduced packs of Whiskas in a supermarket and, cos our cat is spoilt, we bought a couple of packs.  When the packs were opened the food pockets were all stacked in two long boxes ..... shame to waste them.

Once in my Craft room, I found that they are perfect for storing ATCs!
So I have cut down two boxes, covered one with brown paper as a base and am now about to cover again with paper from my paper book - I have four of these books, marvellous A4 size, if you see them in Smith's then snap them up.

I have time now to sort and swap and 'do' so this is a call out for WOYWW #6 ATC swaps.  I have ten waiting for homes. I know that Helen, Jan, Bleubeard & Elizabeth, Fairy Thoughts and Julia are waiting so that leaves me four spares.  I have blogged all my received cards but it is still in draft - I will put a link on this blog when I finally post .......... if this heat keeps up then it will be later in the week!!!

Have a good WOYWWeek, stay cool for those in the northern hemisphere and stay warm for those in the south .............
