CardWorkShop July Swap

1 to 1 Swap

I have had this little decoupaged bunny for some time but decided that now is a good time to 'let it go'!
I embossed a flower in the top corner of the card and brushed some chalks over it.  Two corners from the same papers finished off the design for me.

I have been emailed that my card has been posted .....  now received!

Thank you Helen.

Make a Card With - Diecuts

I had cut some of these words when I bought the x-cut dies and the left overs were in my box along with the flourish (free from a magazine some time ago).
I found the tiny doves in my stash as well so it was all 'good in the hood'.
I received this bright and cheerful card by return.
Thank you Pat.

Colour My World - Pink card with White

While I had my diecuts box on the desk, I found this white oval so then needed something for the centre ...... white and pink flower ribbons and a white peel off ..... perfect methinks!!

I received this very pretty card by return.
Thank you Pat.

Follow That Sketch

I don't always read the details, as you may have noticed, but I am trying not to get it wrong quite as often so I laid out all my components for this card before I started working on it.
I selected two papers from my book - wish they would bring out another one! - some ribbon from my stash and a sentiment.
It took some time for me to decide the layout of the colours and even now I am not sure ...... but it's done and posted now so heigh ho!
My partner tells me that she has posted my card.  Well worth waiting for!
Thank you Helen.

August Swaps

Here are my cards made and received for this August Cardmaking swap.

Alphabet Swap - H is for Handbag

Another kit from Craftee Cards.  This time to use small squares of paper to make up the design.

H is for Hedgehog
Thank you Liz

Colour Swap - Bright

I chose a green card and then matted it with Red.  The diecut sentiment in blue contrasted with bright yellow ribbon for the bow.
This is BRIGHT!

Lots of colour here.
Thank you Caro.

Noobie Swap

I used a topper from Lellibot on a gold card.  The topper was edged with silver so I added silver corner peel offs to complete the design.

I wish I could show you the quality of this card, so neat and tidy, and the waterfall works perfectly.

Thank you Caro.

Technique - Iris Folding

Yes!  Another kit form Craftee!  I do so love Iris Folding .... I love this pattern, no doubt you are sick of seeing it!!!

A perfectly folded ribbon heart!
Thank you Caz

WOYWW #325

This is WOYWWednesday - if you want to find out more then checkout the tab at the top of the page - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting this weekly meet up.

Rolling in late ......

I am still sorting out boxes, and 'clearing' rooms .... walls actually!  Now that my hand has recovered and almost back to 'normal', I am trying frantically to catch up.  I had hoped that we would be sorted by the end of the month but September is looming too close methinks.

My desk has disappeared into the darkness!
I know that it is in here somewhere ...... perhaps it's under the pet food boxes .... they haven't even been covered yet and they are being used!!!!!  No surface escapes, no container remains empty...... especially black sacks and charity bags!!!

Several bags and boxes were unloaded outside the Red Cross today .... PDSA last week ..... everyone's a winner!!!!

Look ..... space!!!

I am also working on my other rooms so don't think that all the bags and boxes were just from this room!  We can see carpet in the office and all my clothes now fit in my wardrobe ..... I will know that we are near the end when we move the piano in the back lounge!!!

I will now take a break and visit as many desks as I can ..... nosey?  who me?  YES!  OF COURSE!

Thank you for visiting today, I hope to catch up with you all over the next few days.

CardWorkShop May Card Swap

1 to 1 Swap

I tried to make this RickStDennis image into a steampunk card but I am not sure whether I succeeded!  I embossed doiley with blues and browns embossing powders, also several metal 'coins', changing them from bronze to patna'd brass.
I attached the diecuts & doiley to a white card, placed some of the 'coins' in the corners and the added my image, which I had coloured with my pencils.

I received this very pretty card by return.
Thank you Elaine.

Colour My World - Yellow card with Silver
I just love these sentiments which I collected many years ago.  I decided to attach one to the yellow card, adding a silver square and butterfly.

This very pretty card also has butterflies.
Thank you Pat.

Follow that Sketch

Guess who didn't follow the Sketch of the Month?  Meeee!  but this blue card followed next month's sketch .... papers, ribbon, bling and sentiments.

This card followed the sketch ...
Thank you Helen.

Make a Card With .... Peel Offs

I added this beautiful 'hammered' effect blue Peel Offs to a blue card.  I used some of the leftovers as a border along the lower edge.

This card is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you Elaine.

May Swap

I am really enjoying the swaps in this Group - each month produces challenges.

Noobie Swap
Teabag folding is one of my favourite techniques.  I used two small pieces of lavender paper placed on the diagonal across a white card.  The circular tiles were rich purple and green colours which I folded into petals.  The sentiment came from my stash.

This is a pretty card comprising embossing, diecuts and shiny paints.
Thank you Sue.

Alphabet Swap - E is for .....

Elephant!
A Craftee card kit as will mist of my Alphabet cards for these swaps.  This very dainty card is Iris Folded blues with corner peel offs.

E is for Elegant.... and it is!
Thank you Liz W.

Technique Swap - Easel
I used some of my Craftwork Cards papers for this card, on both the base and the folded 'easel'.  I placed the topper at an angle, added some candi along the base as the 'stopper' and used a semtiment topper on 3D tape.

This is a really neat easel card, candi added as fruit on the tree.
Thank you Caz.

July Swap

Alphabet Swap - G is for Garland (good old English word!!)

Craftee comes to the fore again!!! I found this kit to be very interesting, so much so that I have bought a few templates for future use.
The paper is placed behind the larger flowers and then the small foliage and decoration if placed from the front.

A beautiful designed card.
Thank you Liz W.

Technique - Silhouette

I chose these unusual colours for my silhouette card as a change.  I diecut some lavender card to make my silhouettes and attached them to an aqua coloured card.  A peel off of the same colour added the finishing touch!

Just love this fashionably dressed lady.
Thank you Jackie.

Noobie Swap

I made this card some time ago for a sketch challenge but then missed the deadline!!!  I cut the patterned paper with fancy scissors to form a scalloped edge.  this was topped with an oblong price of differently patterned paper.
The sentiment within a blue border was printed from my PC, adding the ribbon along the lover edge of the card.  Three diamanté added the finishing touch!!!

I love this card - so simple and elegant.
Thank you Lucie.

Colour - Ruby Red
I took a red card and then wrapped a red / white spotted ribbon round a second shade of red card.  I tied the ribbon into a bow and then attached this card to the main folded card.
I inserted three small red roses into the bow as a finishing touch.

This beautifully embossed red card is just so elegant.
Thank you Caro.

WOYWW #324

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

Whilst working on Monday, my right hand was bitten and has been very swollen.
Fortunately the Chemist at Boots managed to provide me with a good 'Hayfever' remedy and my hand is much less swollen today.... but, being as we are now at a Surgery were the Doctors seem to care, I popped along this morning and it would appear to be healing nicely.

So  ........

.... here we have my workdesk ....

I feel as though I am cheating as I am using a card kit .... but it is so beautiful .... I want to colour in a few of the butterflies on the background paper and maybe pick out one colour for the dress.

We will see ......

Thank you to all my visitors last week, loved all your comments.

Hope the coming week is full of laughter for you, enjoy.

WOYWW #323

This is WOYWWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

I decided to add my new Christmas stamps to my index folder and here I am .....my desk ......

I stamped and labelled my new stamps and then, when I had finished them, I thought I would add the rest of my stamps.  I knew that I had several stamps from a few years ago stored in one of my wonderful blue mushroom baskets.  I found a couple of boxes full of stamps as well as some loose stamps.  I am now in my second box of stamps, I still have all the loose ones to do.
I don't think I need any more Christmas stamps but no doubt I will see some 'special' ones.
Most of these stamps are years old, I mean bought in the '90s when I first started card making, and it was great to reconnect with them again.  Now my hands are twitching to stamp a few cards ..... but they must wait .. I found some other stamps in the baskets so maybe I will index them while they are out on my desk!

This index proved invaluable last week as I entered into a Stamping Swap which meant I would have to sort through my stamps but no, I didn't need to.  I just flicked the pages of my Index File, selected the stamps I needed and then removed the appropriate stamps from their covers.  So much easier than rummaging through boxes!!!

Thank you to my visitors and all the lovely comments last week, I didn't manage to visit many desks but will try harder this week!!!
Enjoy your week............

WOYWW #322

This is What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

In this household, August has been designated as 'Clear Out' month.  PJ is sorting out all the books on his bookshelves - lots of Theology books from when he did his degree - and I am trying to clear my 'piles'.  All my cross stitch magazines went to the charity shop - heartbreaking but I really am unable to do cross stitching now.  I went through my card making magazines, removed all the pages relating to the use of the free gifts and also any interesting ideas for cards.
These pages are the 'pile' you see on my desk!!!

I am in a swap of papers (it's a silly swap but interesting) and my latest envelope has joined the 'pile'.  To the right are my latest 'in the making' ATCs, unfortunately they have been slightly 'piled' on but ..............there is a method in my madness ....... I will have to sort the 'pile' so that I can complete the ATCs!!

That's my desk for this week, although there is a good chance that the 'pile' will only grow higher as I sort out the 'office' - books, books, and piles!!

Have a good week, I shall get round to desking this week as I am allotting 'some' time to visiting - I need to connect to my friends.
