WOYWW #269 - Warning!!!! THOSE OF GENTLE NATURE LOOK AWAY NOW ........

not for long I assure you!!!

I'm sorry but this really is my desk this morning  .... we are waiting on an Advisor who will check to see if we are suitable to have free cavity wall and loft insulation (the answer is NO but they want to check it out .......) so I am filling in my time with this .....ugh!     double ugh! ugh!

The old cushion on the floor is because I stand on a cushion while ironing, it stops my back from aching!  Honest!

Then I will move outside with this ......

......yesterday at my Craft Club meeting we were all given a bag to decorate in any way we would like.  Most of the girls (and boys) used felt, stitched, crocheted and/or drawn flowers.
I wanted my bag to make a statement so  .....COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS will be stitched in different colours  ....... (are you singing?)

I have ironed a motif on the other side.

BTW

Underneath in a white bag, waiting to be collected, is one of my cushions ......  it's for my niece.  I have made an 'angel cushion' for all my grandchildren, they will receive them when the Will is read.  My niece felt a bit left out so asked for one of her own ... now as she "didn't want to wait until I was dead!"  Her words .... too funny!!!

Have a wonderful week - and if you're in England .... there's rain on the horizon!!

Why am I sharing this?    Cos this is Wednesday and I am a Wednesday WOYWWser ............... I join in with Julia, the gracious and now healed Julia, and share my 'desk' with other like minded friends.  Friends we have become over the years and if you would like to join us then click the WOYWW tab at the top of the page for details.

  2. Your embroidery is lovely, I can see why she didn't want to wait. :-)

It would appear from your ironing board set up that you are a lefty. I used to quilt at the home of a friend who is left handed and we were always giving her a hard time about putting the iron on the "wrong" side. lol

    Happy Woyww,

  3. To be honest we had the cavity and loft fill and I can't say it made any difference we could see. It was an easy enough (if loud) process but not 100% sure it was worth it in the end. Ah well - maybe had the winter here been colder we would have a different story to tell :)

Looking forward to the bag complete - love the colours you picked!

    Happy WOYWW!

  4. Well done for putting your faith on the cushion instead of just some pretty embroidery.
Love your angel cushion, what does the writing say on it?
    Bless you

  5. The ballerina is adorable. The sequins make her tutu sparkly. And yes - I was singing. :-)

  8. Hi Christine, we have had our cavity done recently for free, they said it was because of the age of the property.
We could have had the loft done too but it has been converted so didn't need it. Hope it works out for you too.
Have a good week and happy crafting, Angela x # 38

  9. Yep - I'm singing!
Count your blessings name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one.
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

What a truth! And, oh boy, does it age me!!!
Lovely thought to put that on your bag, Christine.
    Take care. God bless.

  10. I'm with your niece actually, Christine! I don't hate the ironing, I sort of just resent the time...is that the same thing? The standing on the cushion is a really sensible idea...will be passing that on when I hear about backache sufferers.
